PSU Hosts Cervid Health Seminar

Penn State University and its partners recently held a cervid health educational seminar on March 23 and 24, 2012. The topic of the 2012 seminar was reproduction for deer farms. Invited speakers were Dr. Cliff Shipley of the University of Illinois and Dr. Rachael Weiss of Applied Reproductive Concepts. The seminar featured lecture sessions for for both producers and veterinarians as well as additional laboratory sessions for veterinarians. Lecture sessions were held at the Ramada Conference Center and Hotel in State College, PA. Field and laboratory sessions were held at the Penn State Deer Research Facility and Animal Diagnostic Laboratory. Approximately 50 deer farmers and 17 veterinarians who serve deer farms in Pennsylvania and other northeastern states were in attendance.
