NEBRASKA: Neb. game officials find 22 CWD cases in deer

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says
there has been no expansion of chronic wasting disease in
the state even though 22 deer tested positive in the
November firearm season.
The commission says more than 4,900 deer were tested.
The 22 positive tests came in the western half of the state,
where the disease had been previously found.
Wildlife disease specialist Bruce Trindle said the
prevalence of CWD in deer tested over the past three years
has been less than 1%.
CWD has never been detected in the Nebraska wild elk population.
