Outreach Education
Extension meetings and programs
Penn State Extension Veterinarians are available to present at your animal health oriented meetings and seminars. Drawing on a wealth of knowledge and experience, our educators may cover a broad scope of topics which vary in depth of coverage, being specifically tailored to address the interest and expertise level of the targeted audience.
Meetings fall into categories based on target audience:
-
Extension Meetings - Educational programs tailored to address a wide range of audiences, including livestock producers, co-operative groups, animal owners and breeders, hobbyists, and 4-H or other youth groups.
-
AgriProfessional and Veterinary CE meetings are in-service programs targeting audiences involved in the industry side of agriculture, such as nutritionists, consultants, extension educators and other agricultural service providers. Veterinary CE meetings provide advanced accredited training for veterinarians.
-
Guest Lecturers - Our faculty are available to give talks and presentations at national and regional professional meetings.
Methods of delivery for any of these meeting programs may take shape as lectures accompanied by Microsoft PowerPoint presentations or handouts, audience participation, hands-on demonstrations, video conferencing, on-farm demonstrations, or wet labs.
