What is Toxicology?
This academic program explores how small molecules act as either toxins or drugs. It builds expertise from the level of molecules and cells all the way up to populations and ecosystems.
Students in the Toxicology major at Penn State first obtain a solid foundation in mathematics, physical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology. They then enjoy the opportunity to specialize with required courses in pharmacology and toxicology. Finally, each student's curriculum is unique based on their choices of senior-level "supporting courses."
One of only eight undergraduate programs in toxicology and pharmacology in the country, Toxicology at Penn State is one of only two offered by a natural resources and environmental sciences college.
