2017 Exploring Careers in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences

If you’re interested in animal and public health, environmental issues, food safety, pharmaceuticals, infection and immunity, molecular basis of health and diseases, and like math, chemistry, or biology, this one-day career exploration program may be for you.

This career-exploration program is for sixth- through ninth-grade students interested in pursuing careers in the veterinary or biomedical fields. Participants will have the opportunity to do hands-on activities in laboratories under the guidance of faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students.

Find out about exciting career options in the veterinary and biomedical fields through hands-on laboratory activities.

Participate in a panel discussion about career choices with role models from local veterinary practices or biomedical research laboratories.

Attend an informative session over lunch to learn which high school courses to take in order to pursue veterinary or biomedical fields.

Download, complete, and mail in the Registration Form to enroll in the Exploring Careers program. A check made payable to Penn State must accompany your registration form. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Program cost: $50 per student (lunch and materials); $10 per parent/guardian or teacher.
