Dr. Gary Perdew Wins Honorable Mention in Toxicological Sciences Best Paper Award 2010

Toxicological Sciences has named Dr. Gary Perdew's paper “Kynurenic Acid Is a Potent Endogenous Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Ligand that Synergistically Induces Interleukin-6 in the Presence of Inflammatory Signaling”  to its Honorable Mention list for Best Paper in 2010.

Dr. Perdew's manuscript was nominated for consideration for the 2010 Best Paper Award and while it did not win, it was named to the Honorable Mention list (four finalists). Posters announcing the Honorable Mention list will be displayed at the 2001 Society of Toxicology's Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., March 6-10, 2011.

Dr. Gary Perdew is the Director of the Center for Molecular Toxicology in the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences where his research focuses on molecular mechanism(s) of toxicity, dioxin-mediated signal transduction and the physiological role of the Aryl hydrocarbon receptor. As well as, biochemistry of heat shock protein complexes and the role of 90 kDa heat shock protein in stabilization of other cytosolic proteins.
