Laboratory research comprises the bulk of the training for Pathobiology graduate students.
During the first semester, students will conduct trial research projects (rotations) within three different Pathobiology faculty laboratories. At the conclusion of these trials, one laboratory will be selected and the remainder of the program consists chiefly of conducting and ultimately completing a Ph.D. research project within this laboratory.
Several programs and activities have been implemented to enrich the research experiences of Pathobiology graduate students. These include a weekly data club in which students and postdocs can present their latest findings; a weekly seminar series in which renowned scientists are invited to speak and interact with students; and an annual Pathobiology research retreat.
