My laboratory has expert experience utilizing mouse models to examine the molecular mechanisms of influenza and bacterial co-infection. My long-term goal is to develop novel host-targeted immune therapeutics for combating influenza and influenza-complicated bacterial pneumonia.

1. Characterization of innate and adaptive immune defense mechanisms against respiratory bacterial infection

2. Characterization of protective and detrimental immune responses against influenza infection

3. Characterization of immune dysfunction during influenza-S. pneumoniae co-infection

4. Characterization of NADPH oxidase-associated immune
