The Immunology and Infectious Disease program explores invading pathogens and the body’s complex network of defenses that protect us from those invaders—the immune system. We study the role of drugs and vaccines, investigate the epidemiology of infectious disease, and conduct pioneering research targeting healthier outcomes.
Pharmacology and Toxicology students study how natural and manmade substances affect living cells and the environment. This program is lab and research heavy and is excellent preparation for careers in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, government agencies, and future academic work like medical and veterinary school.
The Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences program prepares students for acceptance into veterinary, medical, and graduate schools or immediate entry into a rewarding career in the biomedical sector. The course of study is a rigorous, science-centered approach to your undergraduate education. Animal, human, and environmental health are best understood when studied together. Our One Health approach accounts for the interconnectivity of these disciplines.
