Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been identified in a flock of commercial chickens in Tennessee. We are monitoring the situation very closely in coordination with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. No HPAI has been identified in the state of Pennsylvania at this time. However, please be sure to follow all recommended biosecurity practices to the best of your ability, and try to minimize contact between your poultry and wild birds, particularly migratory ducks and geese.
